Epiphany marks the end of the Christmas season, this means we have been journeying since the beginning of Advent to this Sunday.

There are different types of blessings, singing of carols, and food that we are celebrating this Sunday.

The Food:

This Sunday there will be donuts plus new offerings in the Incarnation PAC after the 8:00 am & 10:00 am Masses at Incarnation Campus.  We will have other options as well, namely yogurt and fruit. We look forward to seeing you there as we celebrate Epiphany and begin a new year.

The Blessings:

As you have heard, this is the 800th Anniversary of the Creche, or Manger scene, that St. Francis of Assisi began to invigorate the people of Greccio, Italy to celebrate the Birth of Our Lord.  Three years before his death he obtained permission from the Holy Pontiff to create this new phenomenon.  800 years later we all have them in our homes.

This Sunday please bring the Baby Jesus from your home creche, and if you have more than one child they can hold Mary or Joseph as well.  We will bless them at the end of all the masses (both campuses) this weekend (besides Saturday morning mass).

Secondly, we have the Epiphany Home Blessing again this year with blessed chalk.  This home blessing also originated back in the medieval times in our Church to celebrate when the Three Wise Men visited the Baby Jesus after his birth.  The head of the family leads this home blessing.  In the back of both of our churches will be pamphlets for the blessing and the blessed chalk to write the blessing over your front door.

The Carols:

Lessons and Carols happens every year during Christmas.  We have Epiphany Lessons and Carols which celebrate the end of the Christmas season with nine Lessons or Scripture Readings and nine songs.  It is a joyful, and prayerful event to finish the Christmas Season. This will happen at 3:00 pm on Sunday the 7th at the Incarnation Campus

XLT Adoration:

This Sunday at 7:00 pm at the Incarnation Campus will be a night of XLT adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.  This is another time where we will celebrate the end of the Christmas Season with music and adoration.

Please take time to celebrate these joyful and prayerful experiences with our brothers and sisters here at Our Lady of Light family.
